Thank you for your interest in The Child School/Legacy High School located on beautiful Roosevelt Island.
Founded in 1973, The Child School/Legacy High School is a 12-month non-public school. We educate students from K-12 with varying disabilities. Students are given appropriate accommodations to ensure they receive full access to a general education curriculum, and the school currently boasts a 94 percent graduation rate. The Child School/Legacy High School is a learning community that focuses on the total child. Teachers, administrators, and staff collaborate with parents to accommodate each student's learning style so that all of our students experience success. We embrace each child's unique set of skills in order to enhance his or her self-image, motivation, and social skills - all of which are critical to a child's success.
Our Admissions Process has several steps which are explained in detail on the following page. Once an application is submitted in its entirety, you will be contacted regarding whether or not we believe we can meet the unique needs of your child.
