The Child School would like to announce that beginning soon registration will be opening for weeknight and weekend GED classes that will be offered at from the school’s facilities. The GED program has been spearheaded by Sal Ferrera; RIOC Board Member and Executive Director of the Child School, Erin Feely; Roosevelt Island Resident and Social Worker with Food First Inc., and Romano Reid; Roosevelt Island Community Activist and Resident. The program is being geared toward Roosevelt Island residents, particularly young parents who did not have an opportunity to get their degree previously, but will be open to all. Those interested in registering can visit the school’s website, www.TheChildSchool.org for information regarding the program and for an application, which can be emailed toged@thechildschool.org. The program’s start date will be announced based upon applications received, and will be sent out to all applicants as well as posted on the Child School’s website.
