Computers
Three computer labs are available on our campus, in addition to computers in every classroom. Computer class is offered to all students (K-12) several times weekly. Emphasis in the Elementary School is on providing opportunities to learn keyboarding skills. In the Middle School, students are taught a variety of Microsoft Office applications and use them to enhance the curriculum through special computer projects. In Legacy High school, students learn advanced computer skills. In addition to keyboard classes and classroom use, students are taught the MLA style used for research papers in college. Seniors design and create the school yearbook, using Microsoft Publisher and other graphic layout software. Classroom teachers work closely with the computer teachers to develop an appropriate, well-targeted program for students. They are taken on technology-related field trips, such as the Museum of the Moving Image and Sony Wonder Lab, to help them stay current with their knowledge.
