Science Fair

Our Science Fair encourages students to think like young scientists.  Students design unique science projects employing scientific methods to solve a given problem. The project incorporates students’ writing, oral presentation, creative thinking and problem solving skills, giving them the opportunity to further develop and strengthen these abilities.

A packet is sent home to parents to help their child with the process of developing the project, from choosing a topic to preparing the final report. 

We here at The Child School and Legacy High School strongly believe encouragement from parents is critical to each child’s success.  While we feel it is important to monitor one's own child's progress along the way, our focus is on allowing the child to wrestle with problems on his or her own.  We urge our parents to guide their children whenever and wherever they can, but to let the final project reflect their child’s individual effort and design.

A Science Fair Application will be issued to students at the appropriate time of year.  Please keep in mind that a successful project can be completed for under $10!  The Discovery Channel website has a section devoted to development of Science Fair projects:
