2024 - 2025 Events

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

Summer 2024 is off to a great start! Classes are exploring Roosevelt Island. High School students are visiting colleges.

We are making good use of the picturesque fields during our field days.

The students had a lot of fun on Halloween with our tradition of a pajama day. Photo booths were set up for picture taking and students took their pictures home in a magnet to stick on their fridge. We added extra fun this year with Halloween-themed activities such as a spooky story writing contest across all programs, and pumpkin painting competitions in our Elementary and Middle Schools. Students had a chance to vote for their favorite pumpkin. Lots of gift cards going to all the winners. Happy Halloween!

On December 18th our 8th graders participated in a friendly girls vs. boys volleyball game. The girls were leading up until the very end, but the boys came back and the game ended in a tie.

To spread holiday cheer for all our students, Vishu assembled her Holiday Ambassadors - a group of girls in 6th grade and our theater teacher. Together they wrote appreciations and wishes for all students in Elementary and them read them out to each child. Students loved the individualized attention.

To kick off the break, our Elementary and High Schools had a pajama day. Staff participated just as enthusiastically as the students. Middle School students created their own gingerbread houses!

Our Legacy High School STEM team, The Main Street Boulders, competed in the New York City First Tech Challenge. It was a day filled with persistence, patience, and practice. Our students won the Judge's Award which goes to a team that works as a TEAM! They were acknowledged for their impressive creativity, logo design, and portfolio, which documented their journey as a team - the pitfalls and progress. It is a worthy achievement and we are so proud of our students and all their hard work and dedication!

Our Varsity Basketball team is currently undefeated with a 5-0 record. We are grateful to parents for showing up to each game. Our team has really been exhibiting extraordinary teamwork. We wish them the best for their upcoming games. New to the league is our Junior Varsity Basketball team. While they haven't won yet, the improvement in their skills from the first game is tangible for all to see. Go White Tigers!

Throughout the month of January parents of students in our Elementary School program have been invited into their children's classrooms. Teachers prepared an array of interesting and engaging lessons and activities for parents to observe.

Lois' class continued their annual tradition of parading the halls of the Elementary School in celebration of the Lunar New Year. The older students enjoyed watching from their classroom doors. Happy Year of the Snake!

Please join us in congratulating our students on their trophy and medals for winning an award for best design and best portfolio. We are so proud of our STEM team!

We joyfully celebrated 100 days of school! As always, our youngest class brought a smile to everyone's face with a parade.

Our Annual Valentine's Day Danceathon was a wonderful event as always. This year was extra special because parents joined and all classes put on performances we'll remember for a long time!

To celebrate the return from Mid-Winter break and the changing seasons. We organized a fun event for our 9th grade students to participate in a variety of Olympics-themed activities!

Our Middle School had a fun basketball tournament with our 8th graders both playing and cheerleading and our 7th graders in the audience. It was a fun event for everybody. The players were skilled and the cheerleaders were equally skilled at their craft. Looking forward to the next event!

For the second consecutive year our Varsity Basketball team reached the championship game. Playing against both mainstream and other Non Public schools, they only lost one game on their path to the final. It was a heartbreaking loss to a team that gave just a little bit extra on that day. We are so proud of our players - they are a force to be reckoned with and will return stronger than ever next season!

Some of our Elementary School students took the first step towards "theater reading" by performing in front of their peers and families. The event was a joy for all!
