High School Washington Trip, November 2-4: Day 2
Today started off with a great breakfast at the hotel. We left the hotel and went to the Teddy Roosevelt memorial. We continued on to the new MLK memorial which was really beautiful. We then went to Catholic University went on a great tour and ended with lunch in the American University food court. After lunch we went to the Air and Space Museum and then went on a tour of The Capitol building. It was a great and very interesting tour. We continued on to Harriets where we enjoyed a nice dinner and relaxed for a bit. After dinner we went on a illumination tour. This tour included the Vietnam and Korean memorial and we ended at the Lincoln memorial. After a long day of touring the kids were happy to come back relax and turn in for the night. It has been a really smooth and great trip so far. Click here for pictures from the trip.
High School Washington Trip, November 2-4: Day 1
Our day was really great and the weather was perfect. We started off at the old post office for lunch and souvenirs and continued to American University. Kevin Dempsey (class of 2011) came to meet us! He is doing great and absolutely loves school! We started off in a room where all the students were able to ask questions and then went on a walking tour of the campus. We then went on a small bus tour of the city and got out at the White House to take pictures. There was a free Tibet protest going on there which was cool to see. We enjoyed a nice dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe and ended our night with a nice swim at the hotel pool. Overall we had a great day and look forward to another one tomorrow.
