As part of Bullying Awareness Month, our students attended assemblies presented by JLINE Dance Crew. As a strong supporter of anti-bullying and tolerance, JLINE has performed for over 1 million students nationwide. His music and message have reached audiences of all ages, letting them know they are not alone and inspiring them to reach for their goals. Click here for pictures.
Remy's 4th grade class was inspired by JLINE's anti-bullying assemblies so they created anti-bullying t-shirts to wear throughout the day! See pictures here.

On Thursday, December 14th, 2017, we celebrated our students hard work and inducted this year's new members into the National Honor Society. The students' dedication to their academics and community were demonstrated through all of their wonderful accomplishments. This year, we welcome the following students: Veronica Leyzerzon, Jonah Shainberg, Matthew Fong, Kevin Wu, Ryan Ng, Joshua Aguirre-Leon, Annie Barrett-Smith, Adwowa Fredricks, and Matthew Eizak. On Tuesday, January 16th and Wednesday, January 17th, students in the after school Broadway Bound Kids program presented a sharing to their parents of what they had been working on. The first semester of Broadway Bound was enjoyed by all, especially by our students! See pictures from the sharings here.
Students in the after-school chess program competed in the Greater NY Chess Championships and received a trophy for their efforts. 8th grader Eddy Aldas won a cash prize for winning all three of his matches. We are very proud of our chess players! See pictures here.

Our school celebrated National School Choice Week by having Eileen’s 6th grade class perform the official NSCW dance. A group of parents touring our school enjoyed the performance. Lots of fun was had by all! See pictures here.
Last week, Legacy High School students participated in a community service activity with the non-profit organization, Met Council. The students had the opportunity to create Valentine's Day decorations for Met Council's annual Valentine's Day senior citizen dinner. The students had a wonderful time participating. Here are what some students had to say:
"I think helping others is so important. It is inspiring how some organizations can provide for people in unfortunate positions the help that they need. I appreciate the opportunity I had to provide designs and decorations for the senior citizen dinner." - High School Student
